One day, two friends were out for a walk. “What a beautiful day!” said Alik. “Yes, this is a good day for a walk,” said Stefan. It’s not raining, and it’s not hot.” So they talked and walked for a long time. The road went around a mountain and through lots of trees. Suddenly, Alik stopped talking. He ran to a tree and climbed up. Then he called down to Stefan. “Run, Stefan. There’s a bear.
Stefan didn’t have time to run. He didn’t have time to climb a tree. So he fell to the ground and didn’t move. The bear walked over to him and looked at him. He made noises in Stefan’s ear. Stefan still didn’t move. After some time, the bear went away. Bears don’t eat dead people or animals.

“What was that?” asked Alik. “He told me that good friends don’t run away. They stay to help their friends.” Stefan turned away and walked down the road alone.
