المحاضره الثامنه كانت عن الشعر وجاب لنا اربع قصايد 2 مشروحه و2 لا

وقلت ال 2 اللي مو مشروحه ضروري اعرف منو صاحبها وباي فترة زمنية

المحاضرتين التاسعه والعاشره عباره عن قصتين من ال tHE SHORT STORY

والاربع الباقي عباره عن :

13-14 مسرحيه من مشهد واحد وتكملتها

للكاتبة - Kate Chopin
والقصة حدثت بمكان واحد خلال ساعه وحده بس
والقصه بالموجز عن امرأه تعاني من مرض القلب جا خبر بالغلط ان زوجها توفي بحادث قطار وخافوا يقولون لها وطلب صديق زوجها من اختها تخبرها بطريقة ماتخليها تنصدم المهم الزوجه بالبدايه انهارت من البكاء بس لما راحت لغرفتها فكرت بينها وبين نفسها وقالت هذي فرصتي للحريه ومن ردات الحظ رجع زوجها
وانصدمت وماتت المهم اللي يضحكك بالموضوع ان الدكاترة قالوا موتها من شدة الفرحه

القصة ل(( كيت تشوبين ))..(1851-1904)):
نبذه عن المؤلفه :
- هي (( كيت تشوبين )) اشتهرت يقصصها القصيره ( اكثر من 100 قصه قصيره ) وروايه ( آويكنينق " الصحوه " ) .
- احد موضوعاتها المتكرره هي المشاكل التي تواجه المراه في مجتمع يقمعها , فجعلت اعمالها الادبيه تشتهر بشكل كبير في اواخر القرن العشرين وبعضها مازال ينال الشهره الى اليوم

وطبعا مثل ما بدينا الشعر ووضحنا المصطلحات راح نبدأ أولا بمصطلحات أدبيه ( تختص بالقصص والروايات والحكايا " فيكشين " )

Character:

The embodiment of a person in a drama or narrative through verbal

representation or actions. It is through their dialogs and actions that the readers or

audience is able to understand the moral, intellectual and emotional qualities of

that character and thus the overall story

- 1- الشخصيه (( كاركتار )) : هو تجسيد الشخص في الدراما او السرد من خلال تقديم او عرض لفظي ( السرد ) او من خلال التمثيل ( الدراما ) .

- من خلال حواراتهم او افعالهم يكون القارئ او المتفرج قادر على فهم المعايير الاخلاقيه او الفكريه والعاطفيه لهذه الشخصيه وبالتالي للقصه باكملها .

Foreshadowing

is the use of hints or clues to suggest what will happen later in literature.

Foreshadowing is a tool used to give the reader or audience a hint of what may

happen ahead.

- 2- الإنذار " فورشادوينق " : هو استخدام التلميحات والدلائل للانذار بما سيحصل لاحقا في العمل الادبي .

- الانذار هي اداة لاعطاء القارئ او المستمع والمشاهد تلميح بما قد يحصل في المستقبل

Oxymoron:

A literary device in which two words that contradict each other in meaning are

used together to form a paradox.

Oxymoron is putting two contradictory words together.

Examples: hot ice, cold fire, wise fool, sad joy,

- 3- التناقض او التضاد اللفظي " أوكسيمورون " : اداة ادبيه حيث يتم استخدام كلمتان تناقضان بعضهما في المعنى , لتشكيل تناقض . ( وضع كلمتان متناقضتان مع بعضهما في سياق واحد ) .

Plot:

The effect of the structure and relationship of the actions, events and characters

in a fictional work.

- 4- الحبكه الدراميه " بلوت " : تأثير البنيه وعلاقة الافعال والاحداث والشخصيات في العمل الادبي ( الفيكشن )

Point of View:

It is a narrative method which determines the manner in which and the

position from where, a story is told.

وجهة النظر ( بوينت اوف فيو ) : هي طريقة السرد التي تحدد الطريقه او الاسلوب التي تخبر بها القصه , ومن اين يتم اخبار القصه

Point of view :

is the perspective from which a story is told. We may choose to tell our

story in:

وجهة النظر هو المنظور الذي تروى به القصه .ممكن ان نختار ان تخبر قصتنا من وجهة نظر :

first person, using "I" or "we";

الشخص الاول " فيرست بيرسون " : باستخدام " I " او " We "

third person("he," "she," "it"), which can be limited or omniscient

الشخص الثالث " ثيرد بيرسون " : ( he , she , it ) التي ممكن ان تكون محدوده او كلية العلم .

second person, "you," the least common point of view.

الشخص الثاني " سيكوند بيرسون " : ( you ) وهو الراوي او وجهة النظر الاقل استخداما وشيوعا .

First person Point of View: limits the reader to one character's perspective.

الشخص الاول . يحد القارئ في منظور الشخصيه

Third Person Point of View:

Though first person can be powerful, third person is actually the more

versatile point of view.

Third person allows you to create a much richer, more complicated

universe.

- على الرغم من ان الشخص الاول أقوى , الا ان الشخص الثالث هو وجهة النظر الاكثر تنوعا . الشخص الثالث يسمح لك بخلق عالما أغنى وأكثر تعقيدا

is determining Time and Place in fiction.

Plot Summary

.Brently Mallard has died in a train accident, according to a report received at a newspaper office

وصل تقرير الى مكتب الجريده يخبر بان السيد برينتلي ماللارد قد مات

Mr. Richards, a friend of Mallard, was in the newspaper office when the report came in

كان السيد ريتشاردز صديق السيد برينتلي موجود في مكتب الجريده عندما اتى التقرير

He tells Mallard’s sister-in-law, Josephine, of Mallard’s death, and accompanies Josephine to the Mallard home

اخبر اخت زوجة السيد ماللارد جوزيفين بخبر وفاة زوج اختها ورافقها الى منزل اختها

Because Mallard’s wife, Louise—a young, attractive woman—suffers from a heart condition, Josephine announces news of the tragedy as gently as possible

Mrs. Mallard breaks down, crying fitfully, then goes upstairs to a room to be alone

There she sits down and gazes out a window, sobbing

انهارت السيده ماللاردز , تبكي بشكل متقطع , ثم ذهبت الى الطابق العلوي لتبقى وحدها في الغرفه . هناك

جلست وظلت تحدق من النافذه وتنتحب

It is spring. Birds sing, and the trees burst with new life. It had been raining, but now *****es of blue sky appear.

انه الربيع , الطيور تغني والاشجار تكتسي بحياة جديده . كانت تمطر , لكن الان بدأت رقع السماء الزرقاء في الظهور

Suddenly, an extraordinary thought occurs to Mrs. Mallard, interrupting her grieving: She is free. She is now an independent woman—at liberty to do as she pleases

فجأه افكار غريبه بدأت تطرأ على بال السيده ماللارد ( لويز ) مقاطعة حزنها : انها حره , هي الان اصبحت امراه مستقله , حريه تسمح لها ان تفعل ما كانت ترجوه

Because Mrs. Mallard seems to feel guilty at this thought, she tries to fight it back at first. Then she succumbs to it, allowing it to sweep over her. She whispers, “Free, free, free!”

لان السيده ماللارد بدأت تحس بالذنب لهذه الافكار , حاولت مقاومتها في البدايه , لكنها استسلمت لها وسمحت لها بان تجرفها معها . اخذت تهمس (( حره , حره , حره ))

To be sure, she will cry at the funeral. However, in the years to come, she will know nothing but joy and happiness, for there will be “no powerful will bending her” to do its bidding

من المؤكد انها ستبكي في الجنازه . رغم ذلك هي في السنوات القادمه لن تعرف الا الفرح والسعاده , (( لن تكون هناك اراده تجعلها تنحني لها ))

Of course, she had loved her husband. Well, sometimes. On other occasions, she had not loved him at all

بالطبع لقد احبت زوجها , حسنا , ربما احيانا . لكن في بعض الاحيان لم تكن تحبه ابدا

But what does it matter now, she thinks, whether or how much she had loved her husband? The important thing is that she is free.

لكن مايجعله مهم الان هو هل كانت تحب زوجها او كم كانت تحب زوجها ؟؟

Worried about her sister, Josephine pounds on Mrs. Mallard’s door, begging entry

لقلق جوزيفين على اختها اخذت تطرق عليها باب الغرفه , ترجوها ان تدعها تدخل

But Louise, saying she is all right, tells her to go away

لكن لويز تقول لها انها بخير , وتخبرها بان تذهب

Mrs. Mallard then resumes her revelry about the wondrous future before her—all the days that will belong to her alone. Only yesterday she wished that life would be short; now she wishes that life will be long

عندها تستأنف السيده ماللارد احتفالها بمستقبلها الرائع . فقط بالامس تمنت ان تكون حياتها قصيره , الان هي تتمنى ان تكون حياتها طويله

At length, she answers the door and goes downstairs with Josephine. At the bottom of the stairs, Mr. Richards stands waiting while someone is opening the front door

بعد مده , استجابت لطرقات الباب ونزلت الى الطابق السفلي مع اختها جوزيفين , في نهاية الدرج يقف السيد ريتشاردز منتظرا شخصا ما يفتح الباب الامامي

It is Brently Mallard. There had been a mix-up. He was not in the accident, or even near it, when it occurred

انه السيد برينتلي ماللارد . كان هناك خلط . لم يكن في الحادث , او حتى بالقرب منه عندما حدث

Josephine shrieks. Richards quickly moves in front of Brently to prevent Mrs. Mallard from seeing him. But it is too late

Physicians later determine that Mrs. Mallard’s death resulted from “joy that kills.” Her weak heart could not withstand the happy shock of seeing her husband alive and whole

كان المجتمع في نهاية القرن التاسع عشر يتوقع من المراه ان تلازم المنزل , تطبخ , تتحمل وتربي الاطفال . بغض النظر عن نشاطات المطالبه بحقوق المرأه مثل :(

women still had not received the right to vote in national elections by the century’s end. Moreover, employers generally discriminated against women by hiring them for menial jobs only and paying them less than men for the same work

كانت النساء مازلن غير قادرات على التصويت في الانتخابات الوطنيه بنهاية القرن . والاكثر من ذلك , كان ارباب العمل يمارسون التمييز ضد المراه بتوظيفهم بوظائف اقل قدرا ودفع رواتب اقل لهن من الرجال لنفس الوظيفه

The Story of an Hour hints that Mrs. Mallard’s husband—perhaps a typical husband of his day—dominated his wife.

Consequently, during her marriage, she suffered constant stress that may well have caused or contributed to her "heart trouble," referred to in the first sentence of the story

ماذا عن الاسم

Not until Paragraph 16 does the reader learn the protagonist’s first name, Louise

لن يعرف القارئ اسم البطله الاول هنا ( لويز ) قبل الباراقراف رقم 16

Why the author delayed revealing her given name is open to speculation

سبب تأجيل المؤلف الافصاح عن اسم البطله الاول هنا يفتح المجال للتكهنات

I believe the author did so to suggest that the young woman lacked individuality and identity until her husband’s reported death liberated her

انا اتوقع ان المؤلف فعل ذلك ليشير الى انعدام فردية وهوية البطله الشخصيه حتى حررها خبر وفاة زوجها

Before that time, she was merely Mrs. Brently Mallard, an appendage grafted onto her husband’s identity

قبل ذلك الوقت كانت فقط السيده ماللارد منتميه كليا الى هوية زوجها

While undergoing her personal renaissance alone in her room, she regains her own identity

بينما بدأ شخصها بالنهوض في غرفتها , بدأت تستعيد هويتها

It is at this time that her sister, Josephine, calls out, “Louise, open the door!”

في ذلك الوقت فقط , نادتها اختها جوزيفين باسمها (( لويز افتحي الباب ))

However, there is irony in Mrs. Mallard’s first name: Louise is the feminine form of the masculine Louis

على كل حال اسم السيده ماللارد الاول (( لويز )) مثير للسخريه لانه النسخه المؤنثه من الاسم (( لويس ))

So even when Mrs. Mallard takes back her identity, it is in part a male identity.

لذا , حتى حين استعادت السيده ماللارد هويتها الخاصه كانت في جزء منها هويه رجاليه

Foreshadowing

الإنذار

The opening sentence of the story foreshadows the ending—or at least hints that Mrs. Mallard’s heart condition will affect the outcome of the story

الجمله الافتتاحيه في القصه تنذر بنهايتها , او على الاقل تلمح الى ان مشاكل القلب التي تعاني منها السيده ماللارد سوف تؤثر على نهاية القصه

Morever, this sentence also makes the ending believable

عدا عن ان هذه الجمله جعلت نهاية القصه قابله اكثر للتصديق

Without an early reference to her heart ailment, the ending would seem implausible and contrived

من دون الاشاره مبكرا لمرضها القلبي , كانت ستبدو النهايه غير قابله للتصديق ومفتعله

The Tell-Tale Heart

Plot Summary

تلخيص للحبكه

The narrator has been so nervous that he jumps at the slightest sound

الراوي كان متوتر جدا لانه يفزع من اخفت الاصوات

He can hear all things on heaven and earth, he says, and some things in hell. But he maintains that he is not mad

يقول انه يستطيع سماع كل شيئ على الارض وفي السماء وحتى بعض الاشياء في الجحيم لكنه يحافظ على حقيقة انه ليس مجنونا

To prove his sanity, he says, he will calmly tell the reader his story

لاثبات سلامة عقله , يقول , سوف يخبر القارئ بقصته بكل هدوء

.One day, he decided to take the life of an old man for no other reason except that he had an eye resembling that of a vulture–“a pale blue eye with a film over it

يوم ما قرر ان يقتل رجل عجوز ليس لسبب الا لان له عين تشبه عين النسر

Over time, it became so unbearable to look upon it that the narrator had no other choice but to get rid of the old man

. بمرور الوقت اصبح من غير المحتمل النظر الى عينه حتى ان الراوي لم يعد لديه الخيار سوى التخلص من ذلك العجوز

The way he went about the task, with such calculation and cunning, demonstrates that he is not mad, the narrator says

الطريقه التي اتبعها لينفذ المهمه بهذه الحسابات والمكر تثبت بانه ليس مجنونا

At midnight, he would turn the knob on the door of the old man’s bedroom. Then he would open the door ever so slowly. In fact, it would take him an hour to open the door wide enough to poke his head into the room.

في منتصف الليل ادار مقبض باب الغرفه التي ينام فيها الرجل العجوز وفتح الباب ببطء شديد جدا وكاد ان يستغرق ساعه كامله من اجل ان يفتح الباب فتحه تمكنه من ادخال راسه في الغرفه

Would a madman have been so cautious? Then he would open a little slot on his lantern, releasing light, to check the hideous eye

هل المجنون سيكون بهذا القدر الشديد من اليقظه والحذر ؟ بعد ذلك اضاء الفانوس بقدر ضئيل جدا ليستطيع ان يتحقق من عينه البشعه

For seven straight nights, it was closed, “and so it was impossible to do the work,” he says, “for it was not the old man who vexed me but his Evil Eye.”

لسبع ليالي متواصله كانت مقفله , (( لذا كان من المستحيل القيام بهذا العمل )) , كما يقول , (( لان ماكان يحيرني فعلا ليس الرجل العجوز ولكن عينه الشريره ))

On the eighth night, the narrator opened the door with greater caution than before. As before, the room was completely dark. He was about to shine the lantern when the old man sat up and said, “Who’s there?” The narrator did not answer but remained in place, not moving a muscle, for an entire hour. All the while, the old man continued to sit up, wondering–the narrator speculated–what he had heard. The wind? A mouse? A cricket?

في الليله الثامنه .. فتح الراوي الباب بحذر اكبر من ذي قبل . مثل الليالي السابقه كانت الغرفه مظلمه تماما , وكان على وشك اضاءة المصباح حتى جلس الرجل العجوز وقال : من هناك ؟ لم يجب الراوي بل ضل واقفا مكانه , لا يتحرك لمدة ساعة كامله . طوال هذا الوقت واصل العجوز الجلوس متسائلا مالذي سمعه , هل هي الرياح ؟ ام فأرا ؟

Although he did not hear the old man lie down again, the narrow open the lantern slot just a sliver, then wider. The beam fell upon the open vulture eye. Then the narrator heard a low, muffled sound–the beating of the man’s heart! Or so he believed

رغم انه لم يسمع الرجل العجوز يستلقي مجددا , الا انه قام باشعال المصباح بشكل خافت جدا ثم بعد ذلك زاد النور قليلا . سقط شعاع على عين النسر المفتوحه , ثم سمع الراوي صوت خافت جدا لنبضات قلب العجوز , او انه ضنها كذلك

The heartbeat louder–then louder and louder. Would a neighbor hear it?

.......Shouting, the narrator rushed into the room. After the old man shrieked, the narrator quickly threw him to the floor and pulled the bed on top of him. The heart continued to beat, but only softly. Moments later, the beating stopped

بعد ذلك بدأ الصوت يصبح اعلى واعلى واعلى حتى ان الجيران كان من الممكن ان يسمعوه . دخل الراوي الى قلب الغرفه بسرعه صارخا , بعد ان صرخ العجوز القاه الراوي على ارض الغرفه والقى الفراش فوقه . واصلت ضربات القلب تنبض لكن بهدوء , بعد لحظات توقفت النبضات

The narrator checked his pulse. Nothing. The old man was dead. After moving the bed aside, the narrator took up three floorboards, secured the old man between the joists, and replaced the boards

تفقد الراوي نبضه , لاشيئ , لقد مات الرجل العجوز . ازاح الفراش جانبا ثم رفع ثلاثة الواح من الارضيه ووضع العجوز تحتها

The narrator felt proud of himself, for there was no blood to wash out, no other task of any kind to do

شعر الراوي بالفخر الشديد بنفسه لانه لم يكن هناك دم ليقوم بغسله , ولايوجد أي شيئ اخر ليقوم به

At 4 a.m., just when he had finished his work, the narrator answered a knock at his front door. When he opened it, three policemen entered, saying a neighbor had reported hearing a shriek, possibly indicating foul play. They needed to search the premises. “I smiled,” the narrator says, “for what had I to fear?”

في الرابعه فجرا عندما انتهى من ذلك , سمع طرقات على الباب الامامي ولما فتح الباب , دخل ثلاثة رجال شرطه قائلين بان الجيران سمعوا صوت صرخة هلع , مشيرين الى وجود مايريب ,وانهم يريدون اجراء تفتيش في المكان , يقول الراوي (( ابتسمت , ومالذي سيدعوني الى الخوف ؟ ))

After welcoming the police, he told them the shriek was his own; he had cried out during a dream. He also told them that the old man who lived in the house was away in the country

بعدما رحب برجال الشرطه اخبرهم بانه من كان يصرخ لانه كان يبكي في الحلم . واخبرهم ايضا بان الرجل العجوز الذي كان يسكن المنزل كان في المدينه

Next, he took the police all over the house, inviting them to search everything–thoroughly. After they entered the old man’s chamber, the narrator pointed out that the old man’s possessions had not been disturbed

بعد ذلك اخذ رجال الشرطه في جول في انحاء البيت داعيا اياهم ليقوموا بتفتيش كل شيئ .بعد ان دخلوا الى غرفة الرجل العجوز اشار الراوي الى ان ممتلكات الرجل العجوز لم تتغير او تمس

In his swelling self-confidence, the narrator brought in chairs and invited the policemen to rest. “I myself, in the wild audacity of my perfect triumph, placed my own seat upon the very spot beneath which reposed the corpse of the victim,” the narrator says

لثقته العاليه في نفسه قدم الراوي كراسي لرجال الشرطه ودعاهم للجلوس وقال (( ..))

The police appeared completely satisfied that nothing criminal had occurred in the house. However, they continued to chat idly, staying much longer than the narrator had expected

بدا الشرطي راضيا جدا عن انه لم يحصل في البيت أي جريمه . لكنهم واصلوا الحديث وجلسوا وقتا اطول مما توقع الراوي

By and by, he began to hear a rhythmic ringing in his head. While he was talking with the police, the noise–which had the cadence of a ticking watch but a much louder sound–persisted, becoming more distinct

بمرور الوقت , بدأ يحس برنات ايقاعيه في راسه . بينما كان يتحدث مع رجال الشرطه , الضجه التي سمعها وكانها دقات عقارب الساعه لكن بصوت اعلى بكثير استمرت , واصبحت اكثر وضوحا

A moment later, he concluded that the rhythmic ringing was outside of him. Still, he talked on, now more loudly. The policemen did not seem to hear the noise.

بعد لحظه , استنتج ان تلك الدقات التي يسمعها موجوده خارج جسمه . رغم ذلك , استمر بالحديث , لكن بصوت اعلى , ولم يبدو ان الشرطيين سمعوا الضجيج

When it grew even louder, the narrator rose and began arguing with the officers about trivial matters, punctuating his conversation with wild hand movements

عندما اصبحت الضجه اعلى واعلى ,بدأ الراوي برفع صوته واخذ يجادل رجال الشرطه على امور تافهه . مداخلا حركات يديه القويه في حديثه

He also paced back and forth. Then he raved and cursed and dragged his chair over the floorboards, all in an apparent attempt to drown out the noise he was hearing

وكان يسير جيئة وذهابا . بعد ذلك اهتاج واصبح يسب ثم سحب كرسيه فوق الواح الارضيه , كل ذلك كان محاوله واضحه للتخلص من الضجيج الذي كان يسمعه

Meanwhile, it grew still louder, and louder, and louder. How was it possible that they could not hear it?

لكنه في هذه الاثناء ازداد اكثر واصبح اعلى , واعلى واعلى , كيف يكون من المعقول الا يسمعوا كل هذا الضجيج

In fact, they must have heard it, the narrator decided

في الحقيقه , لابد من انهم سمعوها , كما يقول الراوي

And they must have suspected him of a crime all along. Their calm manner and idlechatter were part of a ruse to mock him

ولابد من انهم اشتبهوا فيه لارتكاب جريمه طوال الوقت .كان هدوئهم وطريقتهم المثاليه في الحديث معه جزء من سخريتهم منه

Unable to brook their counterfeit behavior any longer, unable to endure the sound any longer, the narrator brought the whole business to a crashing climax.

وغير قادر على تحمل الصوت اكثر من ذلك .. قاد الراوي جميع الامور الى ذروتها المحطمه

"Villains! I shrieked, "dissemble no more! I admit the deed! – tear up the planks! – here, here! – it is the beating of his hideous heart!"

صارخا : " الأوغاد " , لن اتظاهر اكثر من ذلك , اعترف بفعلتي , قام الراوي يتمزيق الالواح , هنا , هنا ! هنا يوجد نبض قلبه البشع .

1-- الميل الواضح للعنف من الرجل اكثر من المراه . تثبت الاحصائيات بان اغلبية من يقومو بارتكاب الجرائم هم من الرجال

(2) Physical strength that would be unusual in a female. The narrator drags the old man onto the floor and pulls the bed on top of him, then tears up floorboards and deposits the body between joists

2-- القوه البدنيه التي من غير المعتاد ان تكون في جسم المرأه .( حين يوقع الراوي الرجل العجوز من على فراشه ارضا ثم يقلب الفراش فوقه وبعدها يزيح الواح الارضيه ليخفيه بينها )

(3) The narrator performs a man's chore by bringing four chairs into the old man's bedroom, one for the narrator and three for the policemen. If the narrator were a woman, the policemen probably would have fetched the chairs. But they did not

الرجل العجوز :كما يبدو انه رجل طاعن في السن غير مؤذي على الاطلاق , له عين تشبه عين النسر وهي التي تثير توتر وقلق الراوي

Neighbor: Person who hears a shriek coming from the house of the narrator and the old man, then reports it to the police.
