1- الصفات ذات مقطع واحد
Note that if a one syllable adjective ends in a single vowel letter followed by a single consonant letter,
the consonant letter is doubled,
وندبل الحرف est والمقارنه بين جمع erالصفات ذات مقطع واحد نضع للمقارنه بين اثنين
e.g.:
big ـــــ biggest.
thinner ___ thin

If an adjective ends in -e, this is removed when adding -er/-est,
est للمقارنه بين اثنين والمقارنه بين الجمع erنضع لها e اذا انتهت الصفه ب
e.g.: wide____wider/widest.

If an adjective ends in a consonant followed by -y, -y is replaced by -i when adding - er/-est,
est للمقارنه بين اثنين والمجموعه ies نستبدلها ب y اذا الصفه انتهب ب

-TWO SYLLABLE ADJECTIVES:

two syllable adjectives which end in -y usually form the comparative by adding -er and the superlative by adding -est, (note the change of -y to -i in the comparative/superlative) e.g.:

-THREE SYLLABLE ADJECTIVES:

• Adjectives which have three or more syllables always form the comparative and superlative with MORE and THE MOST, e.g.:

Dangerous more dangerous the most dangerous
Difficult more difficult the most difficult

• The only exceptions are some three syllable adjectives which have been formed by adding the prefix -un to another adjective, especially those formed from an adjective ending in -y. These adjectives can form comparatives and superlatives by using more/most or adding -er/-est,

مقارنه بين اثنين -USE OF COMPARATIVES:

Comparatives are very commonly followed by than and a pronoun or noun group, in order to describe who the other person or thing involved in the comparison is, e.g.:
لازم اسم او ضمير يدل علي صاحب المقارنه than وهي الاكثر استخدام وبعد than المقارنه باستخدام
John is taller than me.
I think that she’s more intelligent than her sister.

-OTHER USES OF COMPARATIVES: استخدامات اخرى للمقارنه

Comparatives are often qualified by using words and phrases such as much,
a lot, far, a bit/little, slightly etc., e.g.: استخدام الضمير بدل الاسم

You should go by train, it would be much cheaper. يجب ان تذهب بالقطار سيكون ذالك افضل
Could you be a bit quieter? هل تستطيع ان تكون للحظه هادئ
I’m feeling a lot better. انا اشعر بتحسن كبير
Do you have one that’s slightly bigger? هل تملك واحده اكبر قليلا

.Two comparatives can be contrasted by placing the before them, indicating that a change in one quality is linked to a change in another, e.g.:
ويمكن المقارنة يتناقض اثنين عن طريق وضع من قبلهم، مشيرا إلى أن يرتبط حدوث تغيير في نوعية واحدة إلى تغيير في آخر، على سبيل المثال:

The smaller the gift, the easier it is to send. الهديه الاصغر اسهل في ارسالها
The more stressed you are, the worse it is for your health.

Two comparatives can also be linked with and to show a continuing increase in a particular quality, e.g.:
ويمكن أيضا أن تكون مرتبطة اثنين المقارنة مع وأن تظهر الزيادة المستمرة في نوعية معينة، على سبيل المثال:

– The sea was getting rougher and rougher. كان البحر يصبح اصعب واصعب
– Her illness was becoming worse and worse. كان مرضها يصبح اسوء و اسوء
– He became more and more tired as the weeks went by

-USE OF SUPERLATIVES: المقارنه للمجموعه

Like comparatives, superlatives can be placed before nouns in the attributive position, or occur after be and other link verbs, e.g.:
مثال المقارنة، يمكن وضع صيغ التفضيل قبل الأسماء في موقف عزوي، أو تحدث بعد أن يكون والأفعال وصلة أخرى، على سبيل المثال:
the most delicious chocolate cake I’ve ever eaten Annabel was the youngest
انها افضل كيكة شوكولاته اكلتها منذ كنت صغير
This restaurant is the best المطعم كان الافضل

As shown in the second two examples, superlatives are often used on their own if it is clear what or who is being compared. If you want to be specific about what you are comparing, you can do this with a noun, or a phrase beginning with in or of, e.g.:
كما هو موضح في المثالين الثاني، وغالبا ما تستخدم صيغ التفضيل من تلقاء نفسها إذا من الواضح ما الذي يجري أو مقارنة. إذا كنت تريد أن تكون محددة حول ما تقارنها، يمكنك أن تفعل ذلك مع اسم، أو بداية العبارة أو مع من في مثل:

-THE OPPOSITES OF COMPARATIVE AND SUPERLATIVES: المقارنه العكسيه

We use the forms less (the opposite of comparative more), and the least (the opposite of superlative the most).
Less is used to indicate that something or someone does not have as much of a particular quality as someone or something else, e.g.:
نستخدم المقارنه العكسيه على شخص لديه قدره اقل من غيره

This sofa is less comfortable. الاريكه اقل راحه
I’ve always been less patient than my sister. انا دائما اقل صبر من اختي

The least is used to indicate that something or someone has less of a quality than any other person or thing of its kind, e.g.:
يتم استخدام أقل للإشارة إلى أن شيئا ما أو شخص ما لديه أقل من نوعية من أي شخص آخر أو شيء من نوعها، على سبيل المثال:

It’s the least expensive way to travel. انها الطريقه الاقل كلفه للسفر
She was the least intelligent of the three sisters. كانت اقل ذكاء من الاخوات الثلاث

أحمد هو طويل القامة مثل سليم. (صفة قصيرة "طويل القامة") أحمد مشهورة مثل سالم. (الصفة الطويلة "الشهيرة ') أحمد هو جيدة مثل سليم. (صفة غير النظامية "جيد")

Ahmed speaks English as fluently as Salim does.
