- the first meaning is being clever as in the following sentence:
Ali is a very smart student, he answers all the questions correctly
- the second meaning is to be well-dressed as in the following sentence :
this man looks very smart, his clothes must be very expensive
- the third meaning is something that is of high quality as in the following sentence:
we will have our dinner in a very smart restaurant tonight
