How to remember...ie or ei
 
Hello everyone....hope u all are ok
:119:
This is a very simple rule hope it would help u to avoid some spelling mistakes that we make due writing

sometimes its so difficult to remember whether its I b4 E or vise versa

here is the rule



ie

أو


ei
I is always before E unless it's preceded with C
1- دائما i قبل e

الا اذا سبقها حرف C

أمثلة :

achieve, believe, brief, chief, friend, grief, hygiene, patience, pierce, priest, thief


2- وفي حال أن تأتي بعد الحرف C

conceit, conceive, deceit, deceive, perceive, receipt, receive


3-
Exceptional cases


لكن لكل قاعدة شواذ ،،،،،،

beige, feint, freight, inveigle, neighbour, sleigh, vein, weigh, weight
