Participle clause & Time Clause*
Time Clause*
Conjunction( after, before, when, while)+ Subject + Tense e.g was + ing/ had +pp etc…..
For example:
While Ali was running, he fell down.*
Before she cooked the rice, she had tidied the room
After he had painted the wall, he took a rest
Participle clause
(Conjunction+ ------ing (participle)
( after, before, when, while)+---- ing)
For example
While running, Ali fell down.
Before cooking the rice, she had tidied the room
After painting the wall, he took a rest
**We delete the subject and the auxiliary and add ing to the verb**
Change the following into Time Clauses
When walking up the mountain, they found an old statue.
After finishing school, Islam studied medicine.
Before going home, Nadia did some shopping.
While sleeping, Ahmad was bitten by a snake
